OPEN CALL!

Ormond Art Studios is hosting a Zine fair for Palestinian aid on the 12th and 13th of April and we are looking for submissions!

SUBMISSION DEADLINE APRIL 9TH

We’re accepting all forms of artist books, publications and zines from zine makers and artists! Our zine fair will launch with an opening event on April 12th and payment will be accepted via Revolut or Paypal.

All proceeds will be donated to E sims for Gaza, https://gazaesims.com/. E-sims are a crucial way for Gazans to communicate with each other and the outside world. Under Israel’s brutal and genocidal occupation, e-sims are vital for Palestinians in sharing precious resources, keeping each other safe, and documenting ongoing human rights abuses. We at Ormond Artist Studios recognise the importance of communication in ensuring that we do not look away from Gaza. We demand an immediate and permanent ceasefire and an end to the Israeli occupation.

To enter fill out the form in the link below and choose a preferred date to drop off your zine(s).

Work must be delivered to the studios located at 4 Ormond Quay Lower, North City, Dublin 1, either on the date indicated in this form, by appointment, or by Post addressed to Ormond Ar-st Studios. All unsold works will be available for collection on Sunday 14th April.

Ormond Art Studios acknowledges the financial support of the Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon in making this event possible.

Ormond Art Studios is an artist-led initiative in Dublin city and is a platform for emerging visual artists. It supports the development of arts practice through affordable studio provision, critical discourse and space for events, residencies and exhibitions. The physical studios consists of eight individual artist's spaces along with a separate area that serves as the Project Space. The Project Space offers scope for work on a larger scale, embodied practice and experimentation. It is in this space that feedback sessions, events and exhibitions happen. We believe that critical discourse is hugely beneficial to developing a professional arts practice and essential to a dynamic arts community. Ormond Art Studios encourages members to open up their practise to peer critique and facilitates lively feedback sessions, residencies, and information/skills sharing initiatives. We believe in collaboration and connect with other creative initiatives to develop a network of support for artist‐led endeavours in Dublin and beyond.
