Kieran Gallagher is a printmaker and teaches art full time. Kieran successfully obtained a degree in printmaking from NCAD in 2006. This was followed by a H-dip in Education from LSAD in 2007. He also completed a Masters of Arts in Art and Design Education from LSAD in 2014. Kieran is currently working in a large secondary school in Co Louth and is very committed to art education. Kieran often combines his art practice with his educational career; in November of 2015 his essay ‘Teaching Through Contemporary Art’ was published on the arts in education website. In April Kieran began working on a project, alongside secondary school students and the Highlanes Gallery to select and curate an exhibition from the British Councils art collection. This project will result in a number of gallery talks and an exhibition.
Kieran works predominantly in printmaking and drawing but also includes photography and paper, his current work focuses on themes such as childhood nostalgia, memory and travel.
