Mahima Singh is a ceramic artist from Bangalore, India recently relocated to Dublin, Ireland. Through intricate inlayed illustrations on her porcelain pots, she seeks to explore the narrative of functional objects and object-ownership. By superimposing functional items of the home on her meticulously crafted ceramics, Mahima seeks to merge the mundane with the extraordinary. Her work is wheel-thrown, turned and altered, and she employs various techniques in ceramic surface preparation, such as mishima, sgraffito and slip transfer.
